Submission Guidelines

What We're Looking For

  • • Techniques - How-to articles, shooting tips, post-processing guides
  • • Equipment Reviews - In-depth reviews of cameras, housings, strobes, lenses
  • • Location Reports - Dive destination guides with photography focus
  • • Marine Life - Species profiles, behavior observations
  • • Photo Essays - Image-heavy features with narrative

Article Requirements

  • • Length: 600-1500 words (longer features by arrangement)
  • • Format: Word document (.doc/.docx) or plain text
  • • Original: Content must not be published elsewhere

Image Requirements

  • • Resolution: Minimum 300 dpi at print size (3000px long edge)
  • • Format: JPEG at high quality (90%+) or TIFF
  • • Captions: Include descriptions and technical data (camera, settings, location)
  • • Ownership: You must own or have rights to all images

Upload 2-3 sample images to accompany your submission. Full resolution images will be requested if accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you pay for articles?

UwP Magazine is a free publication. We don't pay for articles, but contributors receive full credit and exposure to our global audience. Many contributors use UwP to build their portfolio and reputation.

How long until I hear back?

We aim to respond to all submissions within 2 weeks. If your article is accepted, we'll discuss timing for the appropriate issue.

Can I submit previously published work?

We prefer original content, but may consider previously published work if significant time has passed and you hold the rights. Please mention any prior publication in your submission.

What rights do I retain?

You retain full ownership of your work. We ask for non-exclusive rights to publish in UwP Magazine (print PDF and online). You're free to republish elsewhere after our issue is released.
